I just want to greet everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Another year, 2013, is just around the corner folks. We’ve made it through several end-of-the-world scares latest of which is that December 21, 2012 Mayan-calendar-caused one. Yet, we’re still here.
I’ve read recently of a blog post about 5 doomsday scares that didn’t pass. That post should now be editted into ‘6 doomsday scares that didn’t pass’.
I think it’s time for us to shrug away any fears sowed by doomsday sayers about end of the world scenarios complete with specific dates. I mean, we don’t need the aggravation and the unnecessary worry. If the world should end, there’s no way we could survive. So, it’s shouldn’t be cause for worry. Instead it should be cause for final celebrations. If we leave this earth, let’s leave it with a bang! 🙂
Lately, I’ve again come upon this issue about the wordplay between ‘Christmas’ and ‘Xmas’. They say it’s some sly ruse to slowly remove the ‘Christ’ from Christmas by making it Xmas.
I never subscribe to this conspiracy theorists that even make a fuss about a little abbreviation of the christmas word. As if they never use abbreviations at all in their lives.
Personally, I think the xmas word is ok. After all, you cannot remove Christ from someone if He is never in his heart in the first place. And for one whose heart already is filled with Christ, it certainly will take way more than simple word play to rip Christ out of it.
For those who have not yet gotten bored about the Xmas-Christmas issue, you can read about it here to enlighten you.
Again, Merry Christmas everyone. And have a very peaceful wonderful New Year ahead.
