Magic Words That Enticed Me To Buy

I am just beginning to study how to enter the arena of internet marketing and/or affiliate marketing. Before this, and well… still, even now, I’ve always been just the buyer. A blogger who wants to learn how to attract more traffic, and how to maximize adsense earnings. So, I buy ebooks about this subject matter.

I’ve purchased quite a considerable number of ebooks and media about increasing traffic, about seo, etc. Most of the time, I found myself wondering afterwards why or how I bought a particular ebook when all it contained are rehashed content or what internet marketers themselves call crap.

Now, that my sights are focused (sort of) on studying how to earn through internet marketing, I’ve discovered that a lot depended on the sales copy or sales page and how it is structured. And most especially on the use of particular choice words.

Sales Page: Words That Sell

Looking back, I found some pattern on the sales pages of the ebooks or tutorials that got me to buy them. There are particular words and phrases that are common in most of them.

Sales Page Headlines

Everything you’ve learned about … is wrong!…

How to write effective articles that attract traffic…

Headlines are supposed to attract attention. The above are some of those headlines that effectively attract attention by the sneaky use of what are called psychological trigger words. Casting doubt on what you thought you’re doing right is one of them.

If you were looking for ways to increase traffic to your blog, a plainly direct phrase like ‘Boost traffic by … in 7 days’ will get you hooked. And a ‘How to…’ headline never fails to catch the attention of someone who is looking to learn just the thing it is advertising.

A headline structured as a question draws the buyer’s attention and makes him think about the issue. ‘Who else wants to…?’ makes him consider the issue and the ‘who else’ part invokes the ‘me too’ mentality.

Other Magic Phrases that Sell

Do you want to double, triple, or even quadruple your earnings in less than a year?

… price will increase in 24 hours….

So, these are some of the headlines and phrases that I noticed in most of the sales copies of the products I’ve bought in the past and up to the present. I’ve found as I studied the science of internet marketing that these were not random phrases thrown in there to occupy space in the sales pages. These were words and phrases which after careful experimentation were found to be most effective in selling products online.

And did I mention that even prices of online products have common patterns too? Why do all these ebooks, video courses, memberships, etc., always sell as $37, $47, $97, 197 and so on? What’s with the number 7?

So, if I were to begin playing the part of the seller as an internet marketer soon (cough), instead of the buyer, would I use these magic headlines and phrases? You bet!
