I agree. I also see one of my sites high up on Bing, but the traffic stats say little about traffic via Bing.

one of my keyword blogs is number 1 on yahoo, 3 on bing but in the high double figures on google for my keyword.

sadly my traffic logs seem to show most of my traffic still comes from google, it seems nobody uses bing or yahoo these days.

That's the first time I've heard of someone describing Google as ocean waves, and those attempting SEO as the surfer trying to master the wave for the ultimate ride to No.1. That's pretty cool.

Also, for some reason if you get the code wrong, it put's a / before every ' ???

When the site got to number 3 in Google, I thought the dance was over. Nope, it isn't. I surfed at the number 3 crest for about 3 days only, then nosedived back to number 18! As of this writing, it's at number 17 for 2 days now. You know, for a first-timer like me, it's both frustrating and exciting to be seemingly at the mercy of big ocean waves such as google, yet knowing that there are steps that can be made to ride them properly and get back up to the crests.

For this current blog (moralde.com), that's what I'm trying to do John (writing to write). The experiment site mentioned in this post,on the other hand, is a venture into the free traffic areas. That is, there are particular keywords/keyphrases that naturally are being searched by people. They say that's where the adsense bucks come from.

As of this writing, things have changed again. Whew, I think keeping up with this is a headache, I guess, for beginners like me. Looks like Google is shaking its belly again. Still am in the dark regarding this google dance actually.

Wow bro you put a lot of work and time into this little study and it turned out very interesting, all though I still hold true to just writing to write and be natural doing it.

Actually, I did the experiment to clear my doubts and satisfy my curiosity.

I posted it however so that those who have the same issues as I have before I did the experiment may not need to start from scratch. Of course, circumstances may change from time to time, google rules are rather fickle and unpredictable(?), so things may thus be different for others. I am just displaying here the results of my attempts. Nothing more.
